Master the Art of Felt Making

I’m Kate, and I’ve been a passionate felt and fibre artist since 2006. I love sharing my craft with others, which is why I became a mentor for the International Felt Makers Association. With my postgraduate qualifications in Adult Education and over fifty years of teaching experience, I enjoy leading workshops and helping others discover the joy of felt making.

Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of attending the National Felt Makers Convention and participating in Wide Bay Hospital and Health’s Arts in Health program. I’ve also launched my own online courses to make my expertise more accessible to everyone.

Based in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, I’ve been honoured to exhibit at the Here and Now exhibition in both 2023 and 2024, as well as the Du Rietz Art Award in Gympie. Winning prizes at the Moore Park Art Festival and the David Bryce Art Prize in 2024 was a thrilling experience! In 2024, I took my artistic journey to new heights by engaging in professional activities in Austria, Slovenia, and Uzbekistan.

One of my favourite projects was creating bespoke felted garments for international DJ Shane SOS, showcasing my unique artistry on a global stage.
