While we often admire the vibrant greenery above, we rarely consider the intricate subterranean world beneath our feet. The earth—a dense tapestry of nutrients, decaying matter, and life-giving fibers—is the silent engine for all living creatures.
In Mother Earth, I employ wet and Nuno felting techniques to mirror this hidden complexity. By fusing wool, silk, paper and raw plant fibers with kitchen string and detailed embroidery, I aim to materialize the tactile wonder of the soil. These layered materials represent the unseen ‘roots’ of our existence, inviting the viewer to look down and acknowledge the rich, dark foundation that sustains us
