Learn Felt Making Online
When I first began my felting journey, I lived in a small rural town, far from any mentors or guidance. With no one to turn to, I spent countless hours Googling and watching YouTube videos, trying to figure out the correct process for creating fine felt. Some of the information I found was helpful—some, not so much!
Whenever I could, I attended workshops, but with a busy family and a full-time job, time away from home was limited—and the cost of travel added up quickly.
For the last decade, I worked as an instructional designer for a major health organization, creating online learning programs. It was clear to me that I could combine my passion for felt-making with my professional skills to help others learn this ancient craft.
I wanted to create courses with step-by-step instructions and lots of videos so learners could follow along from the comfort of their own homes. Recognizing that busy lives don’t always allow for set class times, I aimed to offer flexible learning that you could start as soon as you enrolled, moving through at your own pace without being dependent on a group.
I remember how much time I wasted searching for the right information, and I was determined to make things easier for others. I focused on breaking down the process into small, clear video segments so that everything you need is easy to find and digest.
And most importantly, I wanted to offer a “help line”—a way for students to share their work and ask questions whenever they were unsure or needed guidance.
My online courses provide learners with everything they need to succeed:
- Step-by-step instructions and short, easy-to-follow videos, so you can learn in small, manageable chunks.
- Tips and tricks gained from years of workshop teaching experience, helping you save time and avoid wasting materials.
- Downloadable PDFs and patterns that you can keep forever, for reference anytime you need.
- 24/7 access, so you can learn at your own pace, whenever and wherever is convenient for you.
- A dedicated help line, ensuring you always have support when you need it.
- “Best Practice” techniques, teaching you the most effective methods for success.
- Instant access—start learning as soon as you enrol, with no waiting for a group to begin.
